Smoothie bowls are all the rage right now. Smoothie bowls are a great way to have a nutrient dense meal without TONS of calories. When creating a meal it important to include balance, so you don't feel hungry 1 hr. later. Yes, if you have high metabolism you will feel hungrier more often, but if you under eat - you will always feel hungry. Even if your fitness goal is to lose weight- you have to eat. This smoothie bowl is great for weight loss, recovery, and general health. Here's what I used to make this beauty.
3/4 cup of fresh blueberries
3/4 cup of fresh beets
1/2 cup of Almond milk
1/2 cup of Non-fat Greek Yogurt
1 small 5-7 inch banana
2-3 large blocks of ice ( optional)
I Added three blocks of ice to add body to the smoothie.
Then blend ingredients until smooth.
Add your toppings of choice :
1 tablespoon of Chia seeds
1 tablespoon of Coconut flakes ( I used unsweetened)
1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
granola also make a great topping choice is your like crunchy.
You can add fresh strawberries or bananas- whatever you'd like. My rule of thumb is to avoid too much sugar. Try to avoid more than two fruit- too much sugar will turn to unwanted fat.
I love working with beets because they are versatile and can be used in salads, smoothies, or as a side dish. I'm super busy and with the intense workouts I do- I need food to be fuel that also_ helps me recover so I can keep it moving. I have noticed my skin glows and my hair grows with this deep hued beauty.
