The Benefits of Using Body Scrubs

Alright, let’s talk about body scrub and exfoliating. To start off, I’m going to talk about why exfoliating is great for your skin.

Humans shed dead skin and sometimes it can begin to pile up on their body if it isn’t removed. When that skin piles up, it can cause the skin to be rough and not as bright or healthy-looking as it used to be. However, when you exfoliate, you are getting rid of that dead skin thus allowing the new skin cells to make their appearance.

While there certainly are different methods of exfoliating, I’m going to be focusing on a body scrub today.

Body scrubs are a great way to exfoliate your skin. To do so, you need to start off with clean, wet skin. From there, you can use your hands to apply the scrub to your skin. You can start at your feet and work your way up from there, scrubbing in a circular motion. After you finish scrubbing your body, you should go ahead and rinse it off. Make sure to follow up with a body oil or a moisturizer; you can also shave before using.

Do you have strawberry legs? Or keratosis pilaris? Well, a body scrub can help to reduce and get rid of that! Using a body scrub can also lead to smoother, and clearer skin, as the dead skin cells that were preventing this are being removed. Along with that, hyperpigmentation of the skin is minimized. Remember razor bumps? Those can also be dealt with by a body scrub too!

Body scrubs that contain caffeine, can also minimize the appearance of cellulite, by dilating the blood vessels, giving the skin a smoother look and feel. Using a body scrubs alone won't do much for cellulite. A sensible diet, fitness plan, in addition to a scrub can help improve the appearance of cellulite.

While body scrubs are great, I highly recommend you test some on your skin first, before committing to anything. I also recommend only exfoliating 1-3 times a week (start off with one though, if you are a beginner) because too much exfoliating can definitely do more harm than good. Make sure to also wear sunscreen because your pores can be exposed to the UV rays!
